Winter 2008 Plateau Gallery in London, England will be representing Alex’s glass filaments series at COLLECT 2008, an exposition of fine craft galleries from around the world taking place at the Victoria and Albert Museum from January 25-29, 2008. Following COLLECT, Plateau gallery will feature Alex’s work in a five week exhibition in London, England. |

Fall 2007 GOSSIP, an American made for TV film will feature Alex’s work on December 14 on Global TV in Canada and on Lifetime network in the U.S. The film, about a glassblower, features Alex’s work as the artwork of the main character. Alex also served the glass consultant on the film set to work with actress Kelli Williams from The Practice. The film was made in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Palette Contemporary Gallery from Albuquerque, New Mexico is representing Alex’s work at the SOFA CHICAGO Show (Sculptural Objects Functional Art) on November 2-4 at the Navy Pier. Spring 2007 Alex’s first solo exhibition took place this past May at Material Matters Gallery of Contemporary Canadian Glass at 215 Spadina Avenue in Toronto. Lighting Commissions: |
| Alex is working on two important sandcast glass commissions featuring her Inner Space series. Working with Zoom Technologies, she is designing the pieces to include LED lighting through the textured glass surface. The relief sculptures will be wall mounted. |

Art and Design Commissions: |

Currently on view (open to the public Sun to Thurs 12-5) is Burst, the title of a huge wall commission Alex and her team installed in the new Bohemian Embassy sales centre in the Toronto art district at 1170 Queen St. W (just east of Dufferin on the south side). Bohemian Embassy is a flats and lofts complex currently being built. Once the final building is complete, the 12 x 16.5 x 8” blown glass installation will be moved to its permanent position in the lobby. The mural is a composition of over 950 pieces of glass in black and white. |
