Glass Artist
Many Years of Professional Experience
I am a glass sculptor with over 20 years of experience working in sandcast and blown glass. My work is inspired by science and nature, in particular macro and micro imagery and how we relate to our environment. My filaments pieces which are blown glass with webs of glass threads on the interior can be mounted as hanging sculptures or individual pieces. My sandcast glass works of art reference the topography of the Earth and the dichotomy of glass as a living material which can be fragile and strong, hot and cold or textured and smooth. I use glass powders and copper elements which are permanently fused into the glass and which provide a variety of movement and texture in my compositions. I make small sculptures as gifts, awards, freestanding sculptures, wall reliefs, garden sculpture, and public art projects in the greater Toronto area. Work can be shipped internationally. Please contact me if you would like to learn more about my work or to arrange for a studio visit. You can also find my work at Petroff Gallery in Toronto.
